Today we made our first wind turbines! Students were given a hub, doweling and cardboard and set to work designing blades with various designs. They then put their turbine in front of a fan and used a multimeter to determine how much voltage was produced. This was our first try with this project and it is fun to see the different designs students used.
Next up...calculating efficiency.
