Rocket Equations

Dec. 5 and 6, 2013
Everyone worked on using equations to analyze the motion of rockets this week. Advanced Calculus students studied the derivation of the thrust equation:

Other students learned the kinematic equations of motion which can be applied to find the velocity and position of the rocket at various points in time.

The sheet of problems that were assigned this week (see the Section Tabs above) are due on Monday (Sections A and C) or Tuesday (Section B).

It would be great for students to do some preliminary work on the Rocket Summary by reading about how Newton's Laws can be used to describe the motion of the rocket, or studying about the 4 forces. Links with information on both of these subjects in on the left hand side of this page.
