There are 2 steps for gaining access to the physics textbook on your computer.
1. Create an account with Kinetic Books and enter the authentication code from the pamphlet. You want "Web Access". You will also be asked for a Billing Address. You can use the school's address.
2. Download an installer on your machine. The installer does not take up much room on your computer and it is already on many of the machines at school. To download the installer you will get a link through your email after you have completed step 1.
You can view this Word document (Logging Into Kinetic Books) to see step-by-step instructions. Don't print this file but just open it and view it page by page while you are going through the process.
