Last Week of Quint 1

We are heading into the final week of the first quint. I will be in Portland for Mon., Tues., and Wed. this week. While I'm gone you will be learning about Newton's 3rd Law and investigating the mathematical equation for the force exerted by a spring. Follow directions carefully and take good care of my substitute... Bruce Guthrie. You can be in contact with me through email if needed.

See you on Thursday for International Fest!

The photo of Jupiter below is from the Hubble Telescope via Wired.com.
Last week Sahir asked me an excellent question about the types of photos taken by the telescope. You can read more about it here. The short answer is that the Hubble Telescope records a digital photo in black and white and then later codes the photos with color. The color can represent various things. This site has a great summary of the composition of Jupiter. The Hubble is AMAZING!
